Students from Montreal-based Nunavik Sivuniksavut will perform a lively combination of throat-singing, drum dancing, storytelling and performance immediately following the conclusion of the  21st Inuit Studies Conference at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM): October 3-6, 2019 Opening Ceremonies and Keynote Lecture by Lisa Koperqualuk, co-founder and former president of Saturviit Inuit Women's Association of Nunavik, and current Vice-President, International Affairs, for Inuit Circumpolar Council Canada (ICC Canada). We are delighted to highlight these students as the official kick-off of the iNuit blanche gallery crawl, which then will take place between 6:00 - 10:00pm that evening.

Unique in Quebec, Nunavik Sivunitsavut offers one-year courses on Inuit and circumpolar history, politics, governance, culture, and language. Students explore global modern issues from an Inuit perspective, while also receiving training in Inuit tradiitonal performing arts. In doing so, they gain invaluable insight into Nunavik, its people and their culture.
