About Us

Norma Dunning is an urban Inuit writer, scholar, researcher and grandmother. It is her creative work that keeps her most grounded in the traditional Inuit ways of knowing and being.

Writing is a discipline that she has maintained throughout her life time. Dunning sees the practice of creative writing as a part of her spirit. If she is not writing, there is a sensation of being unbalanced.

Writing in the genre that is true to her Inuk spirit has brought out the best in her work. Dunnning finds a true voice by allowing the voice of her ancestors to arrive into print.

Dunning will also present during the Inuit Studies Conference.
